Loire

A long sprawling region stretching down the Loire valley to the Atlantic Ocean, wine has been produced here since the 5th century and possibly before. Of all the French regions, the Loire produces the greatest variety of wine styles, ranging from bone dry to intensely sweet, still to sparkling, and watery white to dark ruby. Wines are predominantly white.
