The output stop aimed to article 4 of this decree is fixed at 40 hectolitres at the hectare for the controlled label of origin “Coteaux du Layon” and at 35 hectolitres at the hectare for this name followed of one of the names of communes enumerated to the article preceding or followed name of “Thatch”. However, the vines planted before 1980 can be cut with a long wood having to the maximum seven frank eyes. In this case, the number of frank eyes maximum per stock is brought back to ten frank eyes; - minimal density of the plantations to be taken into account to determine spacings on the row and the spacings between rows: 4.000 stocks with the hectare. The minimal density of plantation defined above is lowered to 3.300 feet in the hectare for the trained vines, of which the height of foliage corresponds to 0,6 times the distance between the rows. The height of foliage is measured between the level of the lower wire of training and the top of the posts carry-wire raised of 30 centimetres (height of trimming). The lower wire of training must be at least with 40 centimetres above the ground. To profit from the provisions of the subparagraph above, the owners of the vines concerned must make them identify near the services of the national Institute of the labels of origin at the latest before June 30, 1997. In the case of new plantations, this request must be carried out at August 31 which follows the plantation. The lists of the pieces of vines thus identified are approved by the national committee of the wines and brandies of the national Institute of the labels of origin. However, the vines planted before January 1, 1997 which respect neither the minimal density of 4.000 stocks to the hectare nor the height of foliage defined above can produce wines with controlled label of origin “Coteaux du Layon”, “Coteaux du Layon” followed by the name of the commune of origin, “Slopes of Tailboard-Thatch” until their pulling up and at the latest juqu' with the harvest of the year 2006.
